Ethinylestradiol/norethisterone acetate (brand names Estrostep, Gildess, Junel, Loestrin, Microgestin, Minastrin, many others) is a combination of the estrogen ethinylestradiol and the progestin norethisterone acetate (norethindrone acetate) which is marketed under a large number of brand names throughout the world for use as a combined oral contraceptive. In addition, the combination is marketed in the United States under the brand name FemHRT for use in hormone replacement therapy for menopausal symptoms.
